What’s Growing On research farm open house 2023
Following a three-year hiatus, Vineland’s annual open house at our research farm is back and took place August 16. The event was a success and was well attended with guests enjoying their evening at the farm.
This once-a-year opportunity provided guests with an up-close overview of our latest research on peach varieties with three stops:
- Plant variety development with Dr. Jay Subramanian, Professor, Tree Fruit Breeding and Biotechnology at the University of Guelph and Rachael LeBlanc, Research Scientist, Plant Breeding at Vineland
- Consumer insights and peach tasting with Dr. Amy Bowen, Director, Consumer, Sensory & Market Insights at Vineland
- Commercialization and intellectual property with Amanda Moen, Sr. Business Advisor, Commercialization and Intellectual Property at Vineland and Sarah Marshall, Manager at the Ontario Tender Fruit Growers
