Ontario company launches first-in-Canada biofertilizer made from cricket frass

The Petrolia-based company SureSource received regulatory approval from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for its pelleted frass product, marketed as Kickin’ Frass. In April 2023, SureSource was granted $200,000 in provincial funding and it took its funds to Vineland and an agreement was signed to work toward commercialization of a pelleted fertilizer made from cricket frass.
