Vineland’s greenhouse facilities offer a range of environments to support crop research, innovation, and commercialization. From protective hoop houses and high tunnels that extend growing seasons, to low-technology greenhouses ideal for pilot testing, and our Collaborative Greenhouse Technology Centre, a 40,000 sq. ft. commercial-scale hub designed for industry partnerships, these spaces provide the flexibility and resources needed to advance horticultural research and fast-track crop solutions.

These are plastic covered structures that are meant to provide more protection for crops than the open field, and serve to extend the growing season for many popular crops such as vegetables and cut flowers.

These are the most common type of greenhouses found around the world because they are cost effective and offer basic manual equipment. This space is ideal for pilot testing/validation work before entering a high-technology environment.

A commercial scale greenhouse is a hub of research bringing together companies, industry and researchers for fast-track commercialization. This 40,000 square-foot greenhouse has 13 large-scale compartments, including two vegetable houses with seven-metre gutter heights that meet commercial vegetable greenhouse standards, and 11 flower houses with five metre gutter heights consistent with commercial flower greenhouse standards.
