Research Technician, Consumer & Market Intelligence

Vineland Research and Innovation Centre (Vineland) is recruiting for a Research Technician, Consumer & Market Intelligence to work in an industry-driven research environment. Vineland is a uniquely Canadian results-oriented organization dedicated to horticulture science and innovation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director, Consumer, Sensory & Market Insights, the Research Technician will support data collection, analysis and reporting for consumer and market research activities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compile data from primary and secondary sources for consumer survey development and market research scans
  • Support literature review development and assist in the preparation of written reports, presentations and communications of research findings to stakeholders
  • Support onsite and offsite consumer and market research such as stakeholder interviews, consumer taste evaluations and online surveys
  • Support statistical analysis of research results
  • Share responsibility for the development, upkeep and maintenance of shared files and procedures including SOPs, survey templates and databases
  • Participate in meetings and prepare the minutes

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant field with one to two years of experience in consumer and/or market research
  • Demonstrated ability to apply scientific rigour to all projects and deliverables
  • Data compilation (primary and secondary sources), univariate and multivariate statistical analysis, interpretation and report writing
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility and work independently with moderate supervision in a deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of the horticultural sector is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
